Pumpkin Carving Party

Prepare for Picture Overload!

I've vowed to get these posts DONE!! Unfortunately, Blogger takes quite a while to upload pics, so I've just decided to upload as I can and that means a whole lotta pics in one post.

Anyway, back in October, Wren helped us host the 1st Annual Wright Family Pumpkin Carving Party!
Here she is with her cute little pumpkin. We used her handprints as the eyes/eyelashes and it turned out pretty cute:
We had a lot of fun with food.
Yes, if you look closely, you will see a pumpkin vomiting guacamole. Is it the most appetizing thing in the universe? Probably not! But you don't need much to make Josh's guac appetizing because it's THAT good! And I knew all of our nephews would get a kick out of it.

We made spiderweb 7-layer dip:

And we made THIS pumpkin fluff. It was a big hit and will be making another appearance at Thanksgiving this week!
All of the kiddos got a little care package full of sugar and games:

We made these cute little spider suckers:

And we sent everyone home with a little tub of the apple butter we made after our trip to the orchard:

Okay, enough of the fun details. Onto the party...

Wren got lots of snuggles in! Here she is with Aunt Bub:

Here are all the kids. Caleb was sweet enough to oblige me and get in there.

Grammy & Wren:

Here's Parker rolling in the leaves:

Everybody had a great time carving:

And Owen even had a little fun tasting pumpkin guts:

A little unsure:

Ummm, yuck!

We got a few funny pictures of Wren and Owen. It was hard to get them both to focus and stay in one spot. This is a good example...Wren is very intent on picking up that tiny little rock and Owen is hitting the road!

Here they are trading pumpkin carving tips:

Ooope! Got one!!

And then we tortured them by putting them in the pile of dry leaves. We dropped leaves on them and at one point they were both crying. Owen is the best baby so if he's crying, you know you've pushed him VERY far! Wren's looking a little concerned for her buddy:
What I failed to do was take pictures of all the kids with their pumpkins. The bigger kids were busy running around our house. I think everyone had a good time and we can't wait to plan some fun things for the 2nd Annual!!
