Our beautiful room!

The resort that we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous!!! We'd heard great things about it, but we had no idea it would be as spectacular as it was! This is the view from our balcony.
You'll see a picture later where I'm standing at the point of the long peninsula. It was really rocky, but one of my favorite moments of the trip being out there with the wind blowing and the waves crashing. It's unexplainable.
Here's a wedding that was going on during the first day when we got there.
We left the doors cracked every night because the sound of the waves crashing is so soothing and amazing. We also got to see tons of whales from our balcony. We were told to watch for them in the early morning so the second morning that we were there, we were up at sunrise and after a while, I spotted one blow the water up, and from there we saw tons and tons of them migrating and jumping out of the water and then blowing water out of their blowholes. It was pretty neat and if we'd been there even a week later we would have missed them! We're going on a whale watch next month when we go to see Jeremy & Lisa, so this got us even more excited for that!

Diamond Head Volcano & Dole Pineapple Plantation

On our first full day, we hiked to the top of a volcano and went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation.
Here is a pic from inside the volcano. If you see the three points at the top, we climbed to the one that is the highest in the just to the left of the center of the pic. It was a hike!! It is crazy to see the vegetation when you come from outside the middle of the volcano to inside of it. It looks and feels like a dry desert and then when you step foot outside, it's bright and gorgeous again.

View of Waikiki Beach from the top of Diamond Head Gorgeous waters
Me flipping Josh off for trying to take a picture of my butt. :)
The train at the pineapple plantation. It rained while we were there but it was still beautiful to see out across the island with the rain coming in.
Josh with the pineapple plants behind him.

They have this fabulous pineapple whip which is basically like a sorbet. We ate some of this and some fresh pineapple. YUM! And a peacock visited us. I was scared. Here is a gum tree. We thought it looked so cool. It looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book!

We also visited Waikiki Beach which was neat to see but very commercialized. And we walked through downtown Honolulu to see great shops (note that I did NOT buy a thing! impressive!) where they have stores that remind us of what you see on Rodeo Drive. We didn't even venture into those, but we did visit the International Market which had great jewelry and t-shirts, etc. And we ate at a beachside restaurant where Josh got to grill his own Mahi Mahi.

Sweet Lincoln in the Hospital

We're back from Hawaii and had a marvelous time!! I'll post a blog soon, but first I want to send our love to Linc. He's gotten some sort of virus that zapped him and he is in the hospital (hopefully he'll get out today) to rehydrate and get some energy back. Even in the hospital with that bandage around his hand, he was a smiling little ham for the camera. He's so sweet. Give him a little prayer if you don't mind!! Thanks! We love you Lincers!

fun with our nephews

We've had the boys a few times lately and have snapped a couple pictures. They're so fun.
This first is my favorite. This is Kowe's station...she's a guard dog at heart, so I thought it was so cute when she and Griff were watching out the window together. He'll be walking soon!
The weather has been so nice, but last time we had them it was rainy so we only got to do a short walk. Griff loves to walk Kowe even though she pulls him. It's pretty cute but I didn't get a good picture of him walking her. Yesterday, it was beautiful so we could walk down to the neighborhood park and play. Even Kowe went down the slide a couple times!
Here's Linkers swinging
And Griff in the tube
Fun!

Josh's dream come true...

So Josh has wanted a big screen tv since before we started dating and today, he finally broke down and bought one. Now, as you can imagine, he's enjoying some March Madness! Okay, okay...he said I have to put that I made him hug it. ;)
I agreed to it as long as in the distant OR near future, we get an entertainment center of some sort that won't make it such an eyesore. And so we can hide the DVDs. But it looks awfully pretty for now, especially with Josh hugging it, hehe.

Happy Birthday(s)!!!!!!

Today we have two special birthdays!

Happy Birthday Dad!!!!This is a pic of the cookout we had for Ronnie's birthday. Kowe's begging of course and we had an awesome steak dinner prepared to perfection by Josh. YUM!! It's nice to get to enjoy the nice spring weather and our table that we got for the wedding that we haven't really gotten the chance to use yet. Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Shell!!
Here's Shell & Linc at Mamaw & Papaw's. Tomorrow, I get the boys all alone while Shell gets to go get a massage and have some alone time. I'm so excited but no one thinks I can handle the boys alone. (Josh will be at work.) I want to keep them overnight but we'll see if she can be without them for a whole night. Happy Birthday!!!

Troublemaker

So this is what Kowe did one day while I was folding laundry in the bedroom. I could hear her out in the loft playing but she is always looking out the window and making playful noises, so I thought nothing of it until I walked out to find this! The worst part is that the loft was actually (for once) fully and completely cleaned, vacuumed, dusted, etc.! I guess she doesn't like such order. Needless to say, we lost a roll of paper towel, though Josh thought it might be a good idea to save it. Umm, no.

now THIS is what I've been talking about!!!

So I've been saying forever now that I wanted a big snow..and let's just say that I got my wish!! We had an official blizzard here and it was fantastic! (Well, except for that Josh and I both had to end up working today when we would have far preferred a snow day!)

Here is a picture from shortly after I got home yesterday at around 12:30 in the afternoon. You can see the drifting...it's bad at 12:30 before the bulk of the storm hit!And here is a picture of the deck...note that you can see the entire fire pit... Josh and Kowe wanted to go out and play while they could.
And the last two pictures are from this morning. You can see the sea of snow in our entire back yard...and note that the firepit is now buried!

I'm so excited for this weekend to sled and build snowmen!!! Our streets were horrible! They didn't plow them because they tried to stick to the major roads, so I got stuck in the 4Runner...that was fun, but luckily we have really nice neighbors who helped us get it out!

never enough cute Kowe pictures

For some reason, Kowe is now all about her daddy. She's not my baby anymore. :(
...unless she wants her belly rubbed...or food...then she's anyone's dog!
...or sometimes when she's wanting to sleep...then she likes to cuddle with me...
...but mostly she likes to hog the entire bed like this...
...and she always falls asleep on one of our pillows. I actually managed to get this picture without waking her or Josh up. Is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen?? I swear she thinks she's a person!

Exciting News!

Josh was promoted this week!!! He is now that Purse Ops Manager for Kohl's. It's basically the position in the store that is in charge of the personnel (and all that comes with that, like hiring, scheduling, reviews etc.), the cash office, credit and best of all, it pretty much gets him off of the sales floor! He's excited for the position and all that will come with it, so I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! He deserves it and it was actually very telling that he was approached about it before he even inquired...just goes to show you how amazing he is! :) He would never toot his own horn, so I had to do it for him!

Some Kowe pics

Here's Kowe's favorite spot to be while we're online... ...and while I'm folding clothes. Whether it's on the bed or on the couch, she has to find a spot right on all the clothes to cuddle...then I have to work my way around her...
There's nothing much going on around here, so I thought I'd post some pics of Kowe.

Happy New Year!!!

This year, for New Year's, we decided to make a trip back to Cracker's Comedy Club in Indy. We went with Shell and Dan, and just two years ago, we rang in 2005 at this same place. My, how things have changed! Here is a picture that Shell took in pretty much the same exact place 2 years ago... And here we were this year...Shell and DannyI told Josh that since this would probably (hopefully) be the last big night out that I get before we get pregnant, I was going to have FUN! And I did. Plus, Josh had to work at 6am this morning, so he wasn't planning on drinking, so it worked out that Shell and I could actually drink together! It didn't take much...Shell and Dan right before the midnight champagne toastAll of us right after ringing in the New YearAnd we all planned on getting Hot Dog Man hotdogs afterward, but somehow Dan was the only one still in the mood...Josh and I leaving the club....welcome 2007!!!!

We're so excited for 2007! It is looking to be a fabulous year for us, with some exciting trips planned and with hopefully being able to welcome a new member to the family in the year to come. We're thankful for our friends and family and we look forward to an amazing year to top 2006! We've got our resolutions all set, so here's hoping we keep them!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
